Today I want to share with you top uses for coconut oil + dozens of uses for coconuts!

I absolutely love coconuts.
Coconuts are an amazing health food. There are 3 different parts of the coconut that offer a wide variety of uses:
- Coconut meat
- Coconut water
- Coconut shell.
Coconut meat and oil is full of a form of saturated fat known as “MCT’s” AKA medium chain triglycerides.
MCT’s are easily digested and sent straight to the liver to be burned as fuel, making it a high energy food and less likely to be stored as fat.
Other plant fats go through the lymphatic system before travelling to the liver to be used as fuel, creating a higher chance of becoming stored energy- on your thighs.
Coconut meat and oil is also rich in caprylic acid which is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antiviral, and anti-Inflammatory.
Coconut water is full of electrolyte minerals like iron, manganese, manganese and zinc, enzymes, vitamins like B complex, vitamin C, antioxidants and amino acids. Forget Gatorade to replenish electrolytes; try coconut water!
Coconut’s are a diverse medium for creating all different kinds of cool stuff!
Ways to use coconut meat:
blend it in shakes, smoothies, raw desserts, sauces, dips, or ferment it with probiotics or kefir culture to make yogurt. it can be dried and grated and used as a topping for salads or an ingredient in raw chocolate, or gluten free granola.
Ways to use coconut water:
Put it in smoothies, fresh juices, salad dressings, and raw desserts. Ferment it with probiotics or kefir culture to make coconut water kefir. Drink it as an electrolyte replenisher, use it as a base to make super food non alcoholic cocktails, etc.
Ways to use coconut oil:
Use it for cooking. It has a high smoke point and will not go rancid when heated making it an excellent choice for cooking! Add a tbsp to soups and stews to add extra high energy healthy fat to your meal. You can use it in smoothies and in raw desserts.
It is excellent as a moisturizer for your skin and your hair. It can be used as a make-up remover, and massage oil.
Put a thick layer on your feet and place socks on top for a super moisturizing foot treatment.
Gargle a tbsp of coconut oil in your mouth to fight cavities and detoxify your whole body. This is an ancient ayurvedic technique called Oil Pulling.
Ways to use coconut shell:
Activated charcoal can be sourced from coconut shells. Brush your teeth with it daily to whiten teeth.
Other products that are available that are made from coconut:
Coconut aminos is a soy free soy sauce alternative that tastes delicious in sauces and salad dressings.
Coconut sugar is a lower glycemic sweetener and has a caramel like flavour and is an excellent choice if a sweetener is needed.
